Our Mission in Kenya
Cumberland Community Church has partnered with Glory Outreach Assemblies of Kenya. This organization is one of great integrity and passion. We searched long and hard to find an indigenous ministry to partner with to help alleviate poverty, spread the good news of Jesus, train leaders and stop the spread of AIDS.
Our focus with GOA is serving widows and orphans who have been affected or effected with HIV/AIDS. We simply want to be the hand and feet of Jesus. When asked to join in the efforts of GOA they asked us to fill a special role. They told us that many westerners come to Africa to build a school or hospital or hand out food. They are very appreciative of that service. However they asked us if we could come and predominately hold and touch their orphans and widows whom no one wants to make contact with. These precious ones are ostracized from family and friends because of HIV/AIDS. We gladly accepted this mission and privilege.
